Editorial objectives

Established in 1980, Therapeutic Communities is a peer reviewed journal that publishes findings related to Therapeutic Communities, therapeutic and enabling environments, and related fields. It provides a forum in which those engaged in developing, managing and sustaining therapeutic cultures can publish original research, communicate experiences, consider the effects of political and social policy on their own settings, disseminate ideas, developments and findings, and communicate good practice.

Editorial scope

The journal publishes papers that critically and creatively engage with ideas drawn from a range of discourses: the therapeutic community movement and related professional practice, psychoanalysis, art, literature, poetry, music, architecture, culture, education, philosophy, religion and environmental studies.
