Editorial Objectives of the series

The international need for literacy research is as high as ever, as literacy skills serve as a foundation to learning. New research in literacy must address hot topics- some of which have limited amounts of previous research (Cassidy, 2010), while maintaining high degrees of validity, reliability, and applicability. This book series will address these concerns with vigorous research and ample instructional techniques embedded within the chapters.

Topicality

Each volume will address a current topic that is of particular importance. For instance, three current topics of particular importance are comprehension, response to intervention, and assessment related to literacy education. These would appeal to a broad audience and simultaneously address critical needs within the profession today. This series will include research from reputable authors who will share their expertise to improve the conceptual and practical understanding of reading and writing.
