Information Page

The Series publishes both theoretical and empirical papers on conflict and peace related to economic, social and political development, primarily of the developing countries.

The role of uneven distribution of resources, inequity in income distribution, social and political discrimination, poverty, and arms spending on conflict within and between countries is covered.

Developmental issues related to water resources, energy-environment, health, urbanization, globalization and population growth and their impact on conflict are areas of interest.

Although the subject appears very broad, the focus is on conflict and its management and possible resolution.

Editorial Objectives

The objective of the editor is to seek and identify scholars around the world who will be interested to submit  manuscripts for possible publication in the series. It can be a personal contribution or edited volume. The papers of the edited volumes may be selected from a meeting or through a special effort of an individual scholar. The  series editor  through his world wide connections with top people in the field will judge the quality of the publication. It will not be a proceeding. Emphasis is on the disciplinary  theoretical aspect rather than practical . However, a manuscript can be accepted when it shows how the theoretical models can be used to solve or manage practical problems. Although  we shall not seek textbooks, a volume which can be used as an accompanied text in advanced graduate level course will be considered.

Topicality

Although the focus is on  political conflicts and international relations, manuscripts related to such areas as terrorism, water conflicts, global warming, disaster management, energy and environmental conflict, financial conflict, health care (HIV etc). are also included. Since the majority  of the conflicts concern developing countries, it will have an interface with development process. These topics are the most urgent facing mankind.

The key benefit of Contributions to Conflict Management, Peace Economics and Development is that it not only to develops advanced thinking for theory in an interdisciplinary framework but also helps to decide policies.
