The Advances in Research on Teaching series has been established to provide state-of-the-art conceptualization and analysis of the processes involved in functioning as a classroom teacher.

These include not only the behaviors of teachers that can be observed in the classroom, but also the planning, thinking, and decision making that occur before, during, and after interaction with students.

Most contributions to the series link information about teaching processes with information about presage variables (especially teacher knowledge and beliefs), context variables, or student outcome variables.

Editorial Objectives

Each volume is planned with an eye toward pulling together and providing visibility to research on emerging new topics or on older topics that are being revived and studied from a fresh perspective. We consider for publication texts that holistically examine teaching  and learning from the lens of experience and practice.

Coverage Includes

Curriculum making in teaching or teacher education; pedagogies insights into development as teachers; new methodologies for studying teaching and teacher education; relationships of teachers, teaching and teacher education; personal practical knowledge for teaching; reform in teaching and teacher education; processes of accreditation and evaluation; teacher beliefs and knowledge
