Political Power and Social Theory is an annual review, committed to advancing our interdisciplinary, critical understanding of the linkages between social relations, political power, and historical development.

Editorial Objectives

This permanent forum for ideas not only fills the gap between quarterly publications and monographs, but also reveals the passionate engagement of scholars today with the social transformations in the world around them. By publishing manuscripts based on original research that challenge conventional theoretical assumptions, the series opens a space of inquiry and debate that crosses disciplinary and geographic boundaries and appeals to a broad range of social scientists as well as area specialists.

Submissions

The series welcomes both empirical and theoretical work and is willing to consider papers of substantial length (up to 80 pages). Please see the Series Editor website for further information:

About the Editors

Julian Go is Associate Professor of Sociology at Boston University, where is also a Faculty Affiliate in Asian Studies and the American Studies and New England Studies program. Previously he was an Academy Scholar at Harvard University’s Academy for International and Area Studies after receiving his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago. He is elected member of the Council of the Comparative-Historical Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association and winner of the Mary Douglas Prize for Best Book from the Sociology of Culture Section of the American Sociological Association (for his book American Empire and the Politics of Meaning.
