Information Page

The series Research in Labor Economics began in 1977 by Ronald G. Ehrenberg and has been published by Emerald since 2008. Solomon Polachek has been editor since 1995, and was joined by co-editor Konstantinos Tatsiramos in 2007. Since 2006, the series has benefited from affiliating with the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), and was extended to two volumes per year. The first volume remains in the tradition of the series with empirical and theoretical papers in labor economics. The second volume, edited by the IZA, is more policy-oriented, in the spirit of IZA's focus on policy aspects of labor economics.

IZA Research Fellow Solomon Polachek and Senior Research Associate Konstantinos Tatsiramos have been acclaimed as Leading Book Series Editors in the Emerald Literati Network 2011 Awards for Excellence, in recognition of the outstanding work they have put into Research in Labor Economics.

IZA Director Klaus F. Zimmermann said: "Sol and Kostas are particularly deserving of the award. They certainly went the extra mile to make IZA's involvement in the series a great success".

Each volume in this book series consists of a collection of refereed research papers written by top economists in the field of labor economics.

Recent volumes have hosted papers by D. Acemoglu, J. D. Angrist, D. Card, H.Farber, A. Krueger, E. Lazear, G. Field, and J. Mincer, among others.
