About the Author

Donald O. Case (Ph.D., Stanford University,1984; M.L.S., Syracuse University, 1977) has held the post of Professor in the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information Studies since 1994, and was Director of the School of Library and Information Science for three years. From 1983-1994 Case was a faculty member at the University of California, Los Angeles. During 1989 he received a Fulbright Fellowship to lecture at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal.

Case’s research interests include information behavior, health-related information seeking, and information policy. He is the author of over 30 refereed journal articles on these and other topics. Case’s book, "Looking for Information: A Survey of Research on Information Seeking, Needs, and Behavior" (2002) was given the "Best Book of the Year" Award by the American Society for Information Science & Technology. He was (2008-2009) President of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIST), and is also on the Editorial Board for the Journal of ASIS&T.
