International Islamic Finance Conference gathers experts in Abu Dhabi, 15-16 April
United Kingdom, 10 April 2013 – A host of high profile experts will gather to speak at the International Islamic Finance Conference in Abu Dhabi on 15-16 April. The two-day event will bring together academics, industry leaders and policy makers to assess the future of Islamic finance in the current global context. Experts presenting include Oliver Agha, Managing Partner at Agha & Co; Professor David Weir, Head of School of Business, Leadership and Enterprise at University Campus Suffolk, UK; Aishath Muneeza, Head of Islamic Finance at Capital Market Development in the Maldives; and Sharia scholars Dr Muhiuddin Ghazi and Kamran Sherwani, both from Dal Al Sharia.
The sessions will revolve around three key themes: Islamic Finance and Social Economic Development; Performance of Islamic Finance Institutions; and Islamic Finance and the new Geopolitical Realities. With high profile government and industry leaders presenting, the event provides a unique perspective on Islamic banking and services, with corporate performance and acceptability of Islamic products analysed and discussed in depth.
Important topics will be on the agenda, such as the regulation of the Islamic finance sector, exploring the ethical issues of Islamic banking, Governance in Islamic financial institutions, as well as the exploration of country-specific case studies.
