Dr Keith Howard OBE: Group Chairman

Founder and Group Board Chairman Dr Keith Howard remains actively involved with the company's strategy and direction.

Keith was for a number of years Chair of Europe's largest Doctoral programme in business and management at Bradford University's School of Management. Read more about Keith Howard.

Martin Fojt: Executive Chairman

Martin has been with Emerald since 1994. He joined the Transformational Publishing Unit (TPU) editing special issues of a number of journals from the portfolio.

From the TPU Martin transferred to the editorial department as Managing Editor, before moving on to head up the newly created practitioner publishing division. He was made Director in 2000, and Chairman in 2006.

Richard Bevan: Chief Executive and Group Finance Director

Richard is Chief Executive of Emerald and a member of the Group Board, with specific responsibility for Finance.

Richard joined the Company as Group Finance Director in December 2008, with Operating Board responsibility for Finance, IT and Operations. Following a successful induction to Emerald and the wider Publishing industry, he was appointed as Chief Executive in December 2010. Prior to joining Emerald, he spent 27 years in retail with Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Asda and Fenwick Stores, including a number of Director and senior management level appointments.

Rebecca Marsh: Publishing Director

Rebecca is responsible for the Publishing areas.

Rebecca became a director in 2006 after having worked as Head of Editorial and as a publisher at Emerald and formerly at Smith Settle Publishers, she has also worked at the British Journal of Radiology. Rebecca is also the editorial subject director for the training programme with the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers.

Shariq Mumtaz: Sales Director

Shariq is responsible for Emerald's global sales.

Shariq has many years of sales experience, and formerly managed Emerald's sales teams in India and the Far East. Prior experience includes senior sales and management positions in retail and on an international arena managing worldwide sales in the medical supply industry.

Vicky Williams: Business Development & Marketing Director

Vicky is responsible for Business Development, Business Information and Marketing.

Vicky joined Emerald in August 2000, and worked in the Publishing and Business Development areas of the business before becoming Director in 2011. She has responsibility for mergers and acquisitions activity, joint ventures, new product and digital development, along with business intelligence and global marketing communications.

Brian McDermott: Operations Director

Brian is responsible for Emerald's global IT systems, services and websites, Business Change Management, Production and Corporate Services & Facilities.

He joined Emerald in September 2007 and became a Director in January 2011. Brian brings a wide range of experience from 30 years at senior management and Board levels in financial services, with Leeds Permanent Building Society, Windsor Life Assurance, Unisys Insurance Services and Provident Financial International.
